The Human right
is there in every nuke and cranny of the society to fight and protect the right
of citizens more especially the growing innocent children that do not yet know
their right. There are some certain vices to guard against or protect in a growing child, and all these vices are as a
result of child’s Abuse and neglect. These vices are:
I. Sexual Molestation and It effect
II. Child’s trafficking
III. Drug Addict (Due to bad influence)
(IV) Maltreatment
(v) Rape
(VI) Cultism
(VII) Prostitution
(VIII) Fraud
(IX) Malpractices
(X) Kidnapping
These Social
vices as recorded occur in growing children as about the ages of 12 -21 years.
And it is as a result of youthful exuberance. A growing child must look for
ways to exhaust the energy in him/her, and as a matter of facts, he/she is
exposed to these social vices especially when parents neglect directing the
child the right way to exhaust these energies in him/her within certain age
limit as mentioned above. At this age limit, the child is prone to making
choices more especially in choosing companions (friends), because it is the
child’s companions at this age limit that will determine the child’s
destination in life. This is when the child needs the assistants of his parents
and guardian as well as discipline that accompany misconduct. Now, if the child
makes armed robbers friend, automatically he/she will become one. That is why
parents should bring up their child in the fear of God, so that they can
distinguish between good and evil. And teach them to hate evil. Now let’s look
into these social vices in details:
SEXUAL MOLESTATION AND ITS EFFECT: A lot of grown
up adults are regretting by apportioning blames on their parents for not
properly inducting and taking care of them during upbringing. Some of these
grown up adults are molested as early as 6,7,8,9 and 10 years while others at
teenage age. 30% of adults from research carried out by author of this write up
had been discovered suffering from childhood sexual molestation, as a result of
their parental carelessness, most of these parents are public and civil servant
that assigns the whole duty in the house to their house maids. Sometimes these
are teenagers as well and have a lot of problems in them, which might not be
visible to those they are serving. Some of these housemaids go a long way in
using these kids as a sexual machine to calm down hormones when their sexual
urge arouses. And according to the research carried out in United State of
America, most of the people that has fallen victims of these acts are today
homosexuals and Lesbians. They said that they don’t like the act, but they
cannot do without it because it is now a habit. Parent this is why you should
not leave your children in the hands of housemaid to nurture them while you
know that it your primary responsibility towards that Kids. What of some
housemaids that are illiterate? When parents leave their children behind, they
will start be persecuting these children. Imagine a housemaid locking up three
kids of 3-6 years inside a deep freezer as punishment measure for insulting her
when the parents were around, after
which these children develop Pneumonia, that’s too bad.
On the other
hand also, some parents out of poverty always make the mistake of sending their
female children to hawk on the streets, therefore exposing these growing
children to dangers of rape and unwanted pregnancy. Imagine a young female of
13 years being pregnant, that is abomination and child abuse. Parents, it is
high time we wake up to our responsibility toward our children and stop pursing

DRUG ADDICT: According to
the research carried out by the author of this write up, the main or major
cause of Drug Addict to a growing teenager is bad company. Drug Addict could be
define as a habit that one has learnt how to smoke drug and could not be able
to impose control or stop the habit and as a result causing havoc to his health
as a teenager. These drugs range from Marijuana and Cocaine, and we can find
most of these Drug Addict teenagers in majority in United State and South
Africa. The teenagers who have fallen victim of these drug addicts are today
suffering from brain disorder like insanity and short memories. Even some of
them have ended up in death. In Nigeria today lots of victims of Drug addict
are kept in Asylum, until they recover from insanity. So parents have a big
role to play to their children as teenagers. And the role is to direct them the
right way, teaching them the fear of God and how to serve God in God’s vine
yard as a youth. By doing this, you are saving your children from bad company
and untimely death because of bad company.
CHILD’S TRAFFICKING : This is another
social vice that is being practiced mainly in developing countries like
Nigeria. It is a process whereby children are being snatched away from the
owners and export to foreign countries through the desert in exchange for money.
During these exercise, most of these innocent kids die in the hand of the
traffickers due lack of care while others suffer a lot of humiliation. Some of these children might not know their
parents any longer as a result of snatching them away from their parents at
very tender age. The destitute on the streets are always a victim of this,
especially during the night. A lot of mad women have lost their child to others
due to lack of care and security from the government. These snatched children
or babies are sometimes being sold for money while others are trained for
different vices like prostitution and armed robbery. Parents should keep watch
on their children daily. Victims learn to contact the human right office for

MALTREATMENT: This common
with blacks, especially in Africa and Asia countries like India, China, Nigeria
and Indonesia, even some part of Europe and America like Mexico. But that of
Europe and America is attached to Racism. In Nigeria and Asia countries for
example where growing children are being given out at the tender ages of seven
or eight year as housemaid to a relation or unknown personality who are well to
do as a result of poverty. The after effect of this action on these growing
children is that some of them are deprived or denied early formal education
which is supposed to be the basic foundation for every citizen of the country
that will amount to anything in the society. Some of them are subjected to fear
and torment by those they are serving as a result, they grow up as inferior
citizens of that nation. i.e. being coward to the core.
Now, it is good
for parents to adopt family planning in this regard, so that they should not
give birth to more than estimated fund for training those kids. Giving out your
kids at tender stage to unknown person is not encouraging, unless it is your
blood relation who is well to do and can account of those kids, but due to
corruption in Nigeria blood relatives are not trusted to secure your child.
Years back, I encountered one child at orthopedic hospital; she sustained terrible
injuries on different part of her body that you cannot recognize her except
through the picture the mother will present to the viewers. Now what was her
case? Her mother handed the female child of six year to her younger sister to
assist her as flower girl during her wedding, and after the wedding; the same
sister asked her elder sister to permit the small girl to leave with them that
she will train her in school. This is a live story. On a good day, in the night
after series of arrangement to use the small girl for ritual and tell the
sister another story, they used her for ritual, after the ritual, they went and
dump her in the public dust bin. Without knowing that there was a neighbor
monitoring their movement. At the end of the day, the neighbor alerted police
and they went to the dump and picked up the small girl in pull of blood and
rushed her to hospital. She survived but with broken bones all over her body.
This is why we should not trust even relations with our kids. Let us leave the
story here and move on.Maltreatment
here also ranges from poor feeding habit and over labour. In this case, it is
not every person that adopts a housemaid that maltreats them to this extent. It
is only wicked ones that do this. Victims learn to contact the human right

RAPE: Rape is an act of violently forcing someone of opposite sex
to embark in sexual activity when such a person is not willing or does not want
to commit the act. It is a sort of molestation, but with act of violent whereby
the victim is overpowered beyond her will not to commit the sexual intercourse.
A victim of rape may sometimes sustain some psychological problem like
inferiority complex, High B.P due to much thinking and low self esteem in the
society. Also on the process of this act, the female victim may also sustain
injuries depending on the level of the male persons involving in the act, these
injuries may be: Vagina problem like infection or constant bleeding, bruises
and dislocation, which may lead the victim being hospitalized even death
sometimes. This social vice is commonly seen among the male and female
teenagers between the ages of 16-20 years. The main cause of this social vice
is depending on the nature of the child or children upbringing. It is the duty
of parents to induct their male children or child on how to manage his sexual
instinct within this age limit, so that
they will not cause damages to her female counterpart or Gender due to lack of
knowledge and experience as long as sexual activity is concerned. Just as we
said earlier that teenage stage which is adolescent stage is full of youthful
exuberance. Within this age limit, every growing male child will want to
exercise his rights and power towards his environment and society at large. But
this exuberance can be tamed with knowledge i.e. when parents educate their
kids on how to go about it. This is where maturity comes in. also on the other
hand, the rape rate in the society is on the increase because of endemic
corruption more especially in Nigeria, which recorded the 3rd
corrupt nations in the whole world in the past but the most 15th largest corrupt nation in the whole world
today. The corruption here does not exclude rape. Now, how does this corruption affect rape? The corruption here
affect rape by association of decent or good citizens of this nations Nigeria
with corrupt citizens of the same. Whereby the decent young people are being
taught the wrong way to go about their sexual habit and that is by rape without
knowing the consequences. They are being influenced into committing this act by
watching pornographic films and reading pornographic materials that involves
rape. Rape is punishable by law 21 years imprisonment in Nigerian law. Also in
Nigeria Just like western world where pornographic website is the order of the
day activity by the teenage ages of 16-18 years, they use it to create fun;
therefore parents should try as much as possible to restrict their kids to desist
from watching pornography and joining bad association which is the root of
corruption as regard rape. Victims learn to contact the human right office for

CULTISM: The main root
of cultism in a growing teenager is youthful exuberance which is termed as urge
in a growing teenager to express his ego (which is that nature that seeks for
safety). This is common in every teenager, now it is duty of parents to channel
their children to the house of God where they will express this ego and derive
protection. Every male child that is left alone to make decision within this
age limit 14-22 years is prone to cultism more especially in the tertiary
institutions and universities where parental guidance and direction are
lacking. On the other hand, teenagers are exposed to cultism through friends or
bad association in the tertiary institutions and universities. So parents teach
your kids on the calibers of friends to adopt or receive in their rooms.
Parents teach your kids on how to live as Christian right inside the Campuses
or else you lose your child. Victims learn to contact the human right office

PROSTITUTION: Who is a
prostitute? One that offers his or her body in exchange of money is a
prostitute. Prostitution is a deliberate act one commits when one is pushed to
end of the wall due to lack of finance or fund or a sponsor to enable one forge
ahead in life. A lot of teenage females are into prostitute due to poverty and
frustration. These are intelligent teenage females whose parents are not capable
financially to cater for their careers in the university. And therefore, in
order to survive this hardship, they take risk of becoming prostitutes in order
to meet up with their educational demands and also sometimes to sustain their
irresponsible parents who have refused to plan well in life. Sorry to say it
some parents are irresponsible, even the educated ones, one will not count the
cost of building family before he dabble into marriage. This is fatal, because
marriage without money is an abuse and irresponsibility of the man. Before dabbling
into marriage one suppose to have a solid base to avoid giving birth to
children who might end up as bastard and nuisance in the street.
Now, little did
these teenagers know the dangers of such commitment which ranges from the following:
(1)
Viruses infection like Syphilis, Gonoehria infection,
staphylococcus and HIV infection (AIDS)
(2)
Damaged reputation
The effect of
these diseases on female gender is highly endemic in the sense that the victim
might suffer infertility in life due to damaged womb by these infections. Today
we have two types of Prostitution and they are:
(1)
LOCAL PROSTITUTION
(2)
INTERNATIONAL PROSTITUTION
LOCAL PROSTITUTION: The local
prostitution is the one that is being operated within one’s country i.e. a
Nigerian prostitute operating within Nigeria. This is common among the
undergraduates of tertiary institution and secondary school leavers of teenage
age from poor families who have nothing doing and therefore might engage in to
prostitution to satisfy their needs. Victims learn to contact the human right

INTERNATIONAL PROSTITUION: The
international prostitution are those that have grown wild beyond local but not
necessarily only those that have grown wild, there are some innocent girls that
are being deceived in to female trafficking to foreign countries in Europe like
in Italy where Nigerian Human Trafficking operates most in corroboration with
the citizens of Europe to use Nigerian female as sex tourist to extort money
from men and for film shooting. Imagine human being having sex with animal like
gorilla under detention. That is the highest form of humiliation and abuse.
They are being detained by these traffickers as slaves and being used by the
traffickers to generate wealth from men and film shooters who use them as
sexual machines and fun making monkeys. Now, it is the duty of parents in this
modern society to engage in family planning by not giving birth to children
beyond the number they can train to any highest level the child wishes to
attain in life and society before marriage. And let every parents wake up to
their responsibilities towards their female children to curb prostitution in

FRAUD: Fraud is a form
of embezzlement of public fund, individual’s money and government’s approved
project fund. It is a form of justifying duping whereby one that commits the
act devices strategies that prove to the victim that the transactions with him
are genuine and reality, but in the real sense it is a fallacy. Non-existing
proves when being traced to the core. And among growing teenagers these
practices are termed as 4.1.9. Now how
does this act involve teenager? Teenagers of modern days have the view that
internet business transaction is the root of embezzlement since the parties
that are in business cannot trace the reality of the claims of both parties.
Therefore, these teenagers cease this means to dupe people far away countries. A
lot of Western world individuals and companies has been duped through this
means. That is the reason Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC)
authorized by former president of Federal Republic of Nigeria PRESIDENT OLUSEGUN OBASANJO to carry
out duties in Nigeria as regard financial crime and embezzlement of any such.
Today, the western worlds are afraid of Nigerians once it comes to financial
transaction as regards legalized stealing or robbery which is common in Nigeria
the giant of Africa. Now the sanction by EFCC
concerning any financial embezzlement of individual or public fund ranges to
25 years imprisonment when being convicted. Now parents should not encourage
their Kids to embark on such dangerous vices, as this will lead to the child’s
loss of focus in life or career pursuit which is the primary objective in life.
Children that have never amount to anything in life, as this will become a
habit to them (believing on easy money without stress). That is a curse on such
child.
MALPRACTICES:- Just as fraud
is to money, malpractice is mainly used for education. But both words are
similar. Lots of teenagers are inefficient once it comes to defending
certificate. This is as a result of malpractices, which parents sometimes
support their Kids to carry out. A good citizen of a country is one that passed
through Education system and also allowed Education system to pass through
him/her. It is a dangerous thing to pass through Education with allowing the
educational system to pass through you; because when the systems pass through
you, you cannot remain the same person. Lack of allowing education system to
pass through you is the reason we have Ghost worker as Graduates in public
service of the labor force of a nation today doing nothing. Most parents are
the cause of this problem. In the sense that parents should allow their kids to
repeat classes when they are found inefficient in that level, but the contrary
is order in this country, whereby wealthy parents will keep promoting their
kids in the school when they fail classes, even to the extent of hiring
machineries from universities and tertiary institution to come and write
examination for their Kids. This is not wise because those kids will end up
achieving nothing in life as a result of not acquiring the values, he or she
should have procured in education, which will help him or her to survive the
challenges in the society. Most of the prominent Nigerians that contributed
immensely to the society and leadership of this nation are men and women who
has sat down and allowed education to pass through their system. We know them
by their contribution in society and not by certificates, though they acquired
the highest certificates and went ahead to prove and justify their certificates
by building the nation. Some of these
men and women are LATE PROFESSOR DORA
AKUNYILI (The proprietor of NAFDAC and the Initiator of GSM Registration for
security purpose with Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) as the Former
Minister of Information and Culture), PROFESSOR WOLE SOYINKA (A Prolific
Writer, a Journalist and theatre artist who has contributed immensely to the
Student literature in Nigeria, literally he has improved the vocation standard
of Pupils and students of higher learning through writing different, novels and
books, PROF. CHARLES SOLUDO (Former CBN Governor also has created remarkable
change in the Banking system in Nigeria), NGOZI OKONJA IWUALA (Former President
World Bank: later deployed by the former President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan
to serve the nation as the Minister of Finance and she was able to detect a lot
of fraud and substandard malpractices in Nigeria.) etc. parents should allow school or Education to pass through
their kids by engaging them in intensive studies and this demands hard work.
Malpractices may pay at the moment but at the end, it is a disappointment to
the Kids and the nations, because they cannot achieve anything with the
certificate that he cannot defend. This is the root of I.M in this country
Nigeria. Where wealthy parents will help their kids jump the ladder of life
through bribery and corruption. Some wealthy parents bribe for their Kids to
get appointment, which they are not qualified or efficient to handle, and this
is the root of our problem in the leadership of this country Nigeria.
KIDNAPPING: Kidnapping is a
criminal act, whereby some group of bad gang comprising of both teenagers who
execute the act and their pioneers who send them on this operation. People are kidnapped
for so many reasons and these are:-
(1)
As a result of
political opponents who would like to show his opposing candidate down or
humiliate him to desist from contesting election. This is why when you are on
this shoe, make sure you are always on mobile with security operatives and
never move alone. The political opponents accomplish this task by using student
cult boys of Tertiary Institution or Universities to execute the kidnapping by
paying the some lump of money.
(2)
As a means of
extorting money from wealthy and prominent people in the society. This is
achieved by Kidnapping their Kids or
wife without harming them or sometime harm them when they prove stubborn to
them. And only be released when the victim of Kidnapping comply with the
certain amount demanded by these unknown kidnappers.
(3)
Kidnapping for
ritual killing especially children. Now every teenager that has gone to this
extent in indulging in this manipulation is already a hardened criminal.
Therefore parents should lecture their kids on the dangers of bad association
and negative influence.
Today in Nigeria we have experienced series of kidnapping as
of 2010 till date, people are kidnapped for mainly reasons stated above, and
also children are kidnapped for trafficking.
ARMED ROBBERY: Armed robbery
is similar to prostitution, but the only difference is that during a child
upbringing armed robbery is for male while prostitution is for females.

our parent should advise their kids to Identify with the right people in the
